Categories for [BEEP]
Thanks to Gretchen of the Young Ladies Christian Fellowship and her post on Blogger Categories, I now have the opportunity to add my own categories to this blog!
In fact, you can create a category on my blog too! Any URL in the shape of http://www.peterboersma.com/blog/2005/01/category-content.html?tag=<category> (for example this one with category = UX) will bring you to a page with all my posts that contains the chosen tag or category in the post's content (okay, only the first 100 and only the ones published after June 6 2005).
The secret behind these categories is a bit complex, and involves using Blogger's Blog Search, some javascript in a hidden post, and a script called feed2js. But Gretchen has written a clear explanation in simple steps, and for me it worked witin 5 minutes!
Now I have to think about the categories that I want to offer....Any suggestions?

Have you ever considered using Technorati?
Yes, but I never really got around how tagging my stuff using Technorati tags would help users find related stuff on just my site. I mean, I am all for a social web, but if I want to send people to other sites, I know better ways (click the ads to the lower right, if you please ;-)).
For now, I've decided to turn the feature into a proper search functionality (which is what is is based upon anyway).
So, search away!
